Healthy Eating Habits
Eating healthy foods everyday can be a great way to maintain the body’s own inflammation response, especially post-workout..
- Green leafy vegetables- kale, spinach
- Nuts- almonds, walnuts
- Ginger
- Fruit- oranges, cherries, blueberries, strawberries
- Fatty fish- salmon, tuna
- Tomatoes
- Pineapple- contains bromelain- a digestive enzyme
- Turmeric
Foods to Avoid for Inflammation
These are the foods to limit when you have occasional inflammation due to exercise or overuse. These foods are overall considered less healthy anyways so it can benefit your overall health to avoid these foods.
- Fried food
- Added sugars (pop, candy, cookies, etc.)
- Refined carbohydrates (white bread, rice, pasta)
- Processed meats
- Alcohol
Pineapple Orange Smoothie Ingredients
- Pineapple
- Oranges
- Fresh ginger
- Collagen peptides- optional but adds protein to make it more filling
- Water- usually I use milk to blend in a smoothie but I like keeping this drink lighter. Also, the ginger has a strong flavor and the water dilutes that flavor a bit.
- Ice
How to Make a Pineapple Orange Smoothie
Just like with any smoothie, just toss your ingredients into the blender and blend until your smoothie is very smooth. I used fresh pineapple but you can certainly use frozen pineapple. You can swap the orange for clementine or tangerine. To make the smoothie creamy, you could add plain or vanilla Greek yogurt.
